The Hunt 101 is one of our most popular nibs for both Copperplate and Spencerian. Super-flexible and very sharp, this nib produces beautiful line variation, from tiny hairlines to super swells. May snag on very rough paper, but can handle some light texture. Durable, long-lasting nib that is not recommended for beginner calligraphers, but is great for practicing once you have some experience.

Gives wonderful contrast in writing. A great addition to any nib collection.

Hunt 101 nib
I have working to if not master, accomplish a good copperplate hand. I was using a nib that was firm and forgiving — good for a beginner. The Hunt 101 was so much easier on my hand that it has become my “go to” nib for practicing and correspondence. It is far more responsive than the Nikko G. I bought the Hunt nib after reading a discussion of many nibs and their different qualities that was offered by Paper Ink Arts.

This is the best nib I have found for drawing. It offers great line variation and you can also draw the tiniest details without having to switch to another nib.
